Flood Safety Week Kicks Off In Utah

(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  The governor wants Utahns to take steps to protect themselves and their property from potential floods.  Governor Herbert has declared this week “Flood Safety Awareness Week.”  State emergency management staffers say flooding is the most common natural disaster in Utah and could be worse this year because of a larger-than-average snowpack.  They are also warning about the possibility of flash floods that can sweep away trees, cars and buildings due to their strong currents.Â
