ZION NATIONAL PARK, Utah (AP)-Per the official Twitter accounts of Zion National Park and FOX-13 in Salt Lake City, a power outage has occurred at the national park as well as surrounding communities in Washington County.

As of 5:52 pm MDT Wednesday, Rocky Mountain Power reports 1,493 customers are without service in the communities of Apple Valley, Hurricane, Rockville, Springdale and Virgin. At this time, the cause remains unknown.

However, Zion National Park believes power should be restored as of 8:00 pm MDT this evening.
