Gun Group Wants Governor To Kill Lower DUI Threshold

(Salt Lake City, UT)  –  A Utah gun group says a bill to lower the state’s DUI threshold is a threat to gun owners’ Second Amendment rights.  The Utah Shooting Sports Council announced yesterday that it wants Governor Herbert to veto a bill that would lower the limit for blood alcohol content to point-zero-five.  The head of the council says the bill makes carrying a dangerous weapon illegal when a person’s blood alcohol is over the new limit.  Since there are no exceptions under the new law, the group fears people could be charged for carrying a gun while drinking inside their homes.Â
