Injured State Trooper Urges Drivers To Move Over On Highways

(Provo, UT)  –  A Utah Highway Patrol trooper says the crash that injured him is a good reminder for drivers to move over when they see emergency vehicles.  Devyn Gurney began rehabilitating a broken leg and other injuries yesterday in hopes of returning to full duty in six months or so.  Gurney was hit by a drowsy driver earlier this month as he conducted a traffic stop on I-15 near Lindon.  He says the crash shows that drivers should never get behind the wheel when sleepy, and should always slow down and move over when they see flashing lights ahead of them.Â
