With municipal elections underway it appears that Richfield City will be the only town in Sevier County that will have to host a primary elections this year. They are also one of six towns, including Salina, Annabella, Glenwood, Elsinore and Redomond, that will have to host an election in November.
With two seats up for grabs on the city council, six candidates have filed including Jeanaa Ogden, Stefanie Anderson, Kevin Arrington, Elaine Street, Jessica Hutchings and Tanner Thompson. The top four vote receivers will move on to the general election.
Two towns have a race for Mayor. In Richfield Bryan Burrows and Angie Stubbs are on the ballot and Salina has Jed Maxwll and Pat Robins. Candidates running for mayoral positions unopposed are Brent Christensen for Annabella, Valerie Hopper for Elsinor, Kelly Johnson for Redmond, Johnny Parsons for Monroe, Daven Quarnberg for Aurora, Gary Barney for Central Valley, Jared Campbell for Joseph, Kelly Alvey for Sigurd and Ronald Torgerson for Koosharem.
In total 54 individuals have put in their names for offices. The primary election is currently set for Aug. 10 with the general elections following in November.
