OGDEN, Utah-Tuesday, Weber State University Athletics announced its 2022 Hall of Fame class.
It consists of four former Wildcats star-athletes and a key contributor to the Weber State athletics department.
The athletes are Amber Henry (women’s track and field; cross country; 2010-2013), Hayley McCoy (women’s soccer; 2005-2008), Barry Nissenbaum (men’s tennis; 1980-1983) and Norberto Segura (men’s track and field; cross country; 1977-1980).
Additionally, Brad Larsen will be honored with the Reed K. Swenson Distinguished Service Award, honoring him for his longtime service to Wildcats athletics.
Larsen worked in the Weber State athletic department from 1979-2011 as the Sports Information Director and later the Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations.
Among Larsen’s achievements is helping former Wildcats star quarterback Jamie Martin win the Walter Payton Trophy (the FCS equivalent of the Heisman Trophy) in 1991.
Henry was a 3-time All-American and an 11-time Big Sky Conference champion
Henry earned All-American honors in the 3000-meter steeplechase in 2012 and 2013.
McCoy was a 4-time first-team All-Big Sky performer.
Nissenbaum was a Big Sky Conference MVP, a five-time Big Sky champion and won 96 career singles matches and 87 career doubles matches for the Wildcats.
Segura won the Big Sky title in the 6-mile run in 1977 as a freshman. When this event was changed to the 10,000 meter run, Segura won the 10-K title from 1978-1980.
They will be honored at the Wildcat Club Hall of Fame Banquet February 18 at the Eccles Conference Center of Ogden.
They will also be recognized during the Wildcats’ home basketball game against Northern Colorado February 19 at the Dee Events Center.
