ST. GEORGE, Utah-Wednesday, Utah Tech men’s basketball head coach Jon Judkins announced the addition of Gibson Johnson as an assistant.
Johnson spent the past three seasons as the director of player development for Hawaii’s men’s basketball program.
Prior to that, he was an assistant coach and graduate team manager at Salt Lake Community College.
Johnson starred as a player at both SLCC and Hawaii.
For the Bruins, he averaged 9.6 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.
While with the Rainbow Warriors, Johnson posted 10.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per contest.
While at SLCC, Johnson was an all-Region 18 selection and helped lead the Bruins to the 2016 NJCAA national championship.
At Hawaii, the 6’8″ 220-pound Johnson made 52.4 percent of his shots.
