LOGAN, Utah-Tuesday, Utah State men’s basketball head coach Ben Jacobson announced the signing of transfer guard AJ Bates from Louisiana Tech.

Bates is a native of Houston, Texas and averaged 12.1 points and 5.9 assists per game for the Bulldogs last season as he earned All-Conference USA second-team honors.

Bates also starred at Seven Lakes High School of Katy, Texas, helping the Spartans earn three district titles from 2022-2024.
