LOGAN, Utah-Wednesday, Utah State men’s basketball was projected to finish fifth in the Mountain West Conference per a vote conducted by select conference media.
The Aggies will be coached by former Maryland-Baltimore County head coach Ryan Odom who went 83-54 (.606) in four seasons as the Retrievers’ head coach.
Odom is 91-65 (.583) as a Division I head coach as he also coached at Charlotte during the 2014-15 season before coming to UMBC.
The Aggies will have 10 newcomers on this season’s roster.
Utah State’s top returning starters are senior forward Justin Bean (11.4 points and 7.7 rebounds per game last season) and senior guard Brock Miller (8.8 points, 1.8 rebounds per game last season).
Colorado State was projected to win the conference title. The Rams garnered 11 first place votes and 207 points overall. The projected conference standings are as follows:
