SALT LAKE CITY-Thursday, University of Utah men’s basketball head coach Craig Smith announced the addition of Josh Eilert as an assistant to his staff.

Eilert comes to the Runnin’ Utes after spending the past 17 seasons as an assistant at West Virginia (2007-2024).

Eilert, a native of Beloit, Kan., served as the Mountaineers’ interim head coach for the 2023-24 season after the departure of head coach Bob Huggins.

During two seasons at Kansas State (2002-2004), Eilert averaged 0.3 points and 0.5 rebounds per game for the Wildcats.

Eilert also played for two seasons at Cloud County CC (Kan.) prior to his playing career at Kansas State.
