SALT LAKE CITY-Sunday afternoon, Utah men’s basketball received a committment from sophomore forward Keanu Dawes.

The 6’9″ 215-pound Dawes comes to the Utes’ program from Rice where he averaged 6.6 points and 4.1 rebounds per game during his freshman season for the Owls. Dawes started 23 of 32 games for Rice as the Owls went 11-21.

Dawes is a native of Houston and starred at Stratford High School before entering the Rice program.
