PASADENA, Calif.-Tuesday morning, Utah sophomore tailback Tavion Thomas was named the Rose Bowl Pac-12 player of the week.
This honor makes Thomas the second Ute to receive this honor on the season, joining linebacker Devin Lloyd following Utah’s 35-21 win over Arizona State October 16.
Thomas, a native of Dayton, Ohio, scored a school-record-tying four touchdowns in the Utes’ 44-24 win over UCLA last Saturday evening, while posting a career-best 160 rushing yards.
On his season-high 24 carries against the Bruins, Thomas averaged 6.7 yards per rush.
This was Thomas’ third 100-yard rushing performance of the season and the fourth multi-rushing touchdown game of his career.
Thomas and his Utes teammates continue their season Friday by visiting Stanford.
