PROVO, Utah-For the second time this season, BYU sophomore tailback Tyler Allgeier has been named the Independent Offensive Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.
In BYU’s 21-19 win over Washington State, Allgeier ran for 191 yards and a pair of scores on 32 carries.
Through eight games in 2021, Allgeier has run for 861 yards and 11 rushing scores. He is ranked No. 6 nationally in rushing touchdowns.
Allgeier ranks 15th nationally in rushing yards per game (111.7 yards).
Allgeier has now exceeded 2,000 career rushing yards in his BYU career.
The native of Fontana, Calif. has currently run for 2,164 yards for the Cougars and has posted 2,481 scrimmage yards.
