SACRAMENTO, Calif.-This week, former Delta High School star sprinter, junior Dallin Draper, will compete for the Cougars in the 100-meter dash, 200-meter dash and 4×100 relay.
Draper will compete in Heat 6 of the 100-meter dash preliminaries. His best time of the season is 10.28 seconds.
Draper will also compete in Heat 5 of the 200-meter dash preliminaries. His best time of the season in this event is 20.70 seconds.
In the 4×100 relay, Draper will run with his Cougars teammates, senior Easton Bianchi and juniors Abram Schaap and Trey Jackson. BYU’s best time of the season in this event is 39.17 seconds.
Former Skyridge High School sprinter, sophomore Josh Taylor, will compete for the Cougars in the 400-meter dash and the 4×400 relay.
Taylor will compete in Heat 1 of the men’s 400-meter dash. The former Falcons star runner’s best time in the event is 45.87 seconds.
As part of the Cougars’ 4×400 relay team, Taylor will run the anchor leg during the West Regionals. Taylor’s teammates in the event are junior Trey Jackson, sophomores Eli Hazlett and Jace Jensen. BYU’s best time of the season in this event is 3:03.19.
Draper and Taylor will compete in their individual events Wednesday.
Friday, they will compete in the relays with their teammates.
Taylor is a native of Richfield, but competed at Skyridge High School of Lehi.
