Region 15 Track & Field Championship Meet

MANTI, Utah-

*We apologize for Runner Card issues that occurred during Day 1 of the Region 15 Track & Field championship meet at Manti High School Tuesday. The only finals that have occurred in running events are the 1600-meter runs and the medley relays.

Therefore, the region champions from Tuesday are: Kylah Ricks from Grand in the girls’ 1600-meter run (5:35.98), Hayden Harward from Richfield in the boys’ 1600-meter run (4:37.96), Grand in the girls’ medley (4:38.97) and Emery in the boys’ medley (3:50.24) in track events.

All the field event champions from the prior day are correct.

The Wednesday events that you now see will be correct in every particular. At Mid-Utah Radio, we do the best we can to report accurately and honestly.

The Richfield girls took the Region 15 title with 165.5 points. Manti placed second with 117.5 points. Grand was third with 87 points. San Juan placed fourth with 76 points. South Sevier finished fifth with 66 points. North Sanpete placed sixth with 59 points and Emery was seventh with 40 points.

For the boys, Emery took the Region 15 title with 157 points. Grand County placed second with 144 points. North Sanpete finished third with 101 points. Manti placed fourth with 86.5 points. Richfield finished fifth with 75.5 points. South Sevier placed sixth with 28 points and San Juan was seventh with 21 points.

The first Wednesday region championship decided on the track, the girls’ 3200-meter run, Grand’s Kylah Ricks (12:12.54) took the title. Aubry Cook of North Sanpete placed second (12:35.30). Manti’s Allie Bridges placed third (12:41.15) and Manti’s Fiel Woods (12:46.45) finished fourth.

In the girls’ 100-meter hurdles, Melissa Crane of Richfield took the region title (16.08 seconds). Claira Reynolds of Manti finished third (16.50) and Tressa Bastian of Richfield placed fifth (17.54).

In the boys’ 3200-meter run, Emery’s Bryar Meccariello took the title (10:21.55). North Sanpete’s Orange Peel placed fifth (10:38.33) in the event.

The boys’ 110-meter hurdles champion is Josh Blauer of Manti (15.91 seconds). Trevor Robinson of Manti placed third (16.01).

In the girls’ 100-meter dash, North Sanpete’s Isabelle Hightower took the region title (12.84 seconds). Richfield’s Passion Reitz placed second (13.33) while her teammate, Brianna Davis-Mitchell finished third (13.45). Kaizlee Bringhurst of South Sevier placed fourth (13.53) and Megan Olson of Manti finished fifth (13.59).

Emery’s Braiden Ivie took the boys’ 100-meter dash crown (10.81 seconds). Keenan Moulton of Manti placed third (11.59) and Cesar Lemus of North Sanpete finished fourth (11.78).

In the girls’ 4 x 100 relay, South Sevier took the region championship (52.57 seconds). The Rams were represented by Brookell Brindley, Kaizlee Bringhurst, Radisyn Jensen and Bailey Keele. Richfield placed third (53.10) and North Sanpete finished fifth (54.45).

The boys’ 4 x 100 relay title was won by Manti (45.29). The Templars were represented by Jaden Sterner, Keenan Moulton, Tyson Brenchley and Ethan Johnson. Richfield placed third (45.68) and North Sanpete finished fourth (46.03).

The girls’ 400-meter dash title was won by Richfield’s Passion Reitz (1:02.37) with Sharlie Alder of Manti placing second (1:02.46). Jamie Holt of Richfield placed third (1:04.80) and South Sevier’s Cassie Johnson finished fourth (1:05.17).

Kade Jensen of Richfield took the boys’ 400-meter dash title (51.61). Manti’s Jaden Sterner placed second (52.54) and Wyatt Robers of North Sanpete finished fifth (53.72).

The girls’ 300-meter hurdles champion is San Juan’s Shae Nielson (47.99) while Melissa Crane of Richfield placed second (48.31) and Kenzie Jones of South Sevier finished fifth (49.98).

In the boys’ 300-meter hurdles, Connor Guerrero of Grand took the title (41.35). Ian Bate of Richfield finished fourth (42.28) and Manti’s Josh Blauer placed fifth (42.93).

The boys’ long jump champion is Grand’s Kaine Allred (19-05.50) while Jamal Mayoul of North Sanpete placed third (19-01.50) and Connor Peterson of South Sevier (18-08.50) finished fifth.

The girls’ shot put champion is Manti’s Breana Barson (39-09.50) while North Sanpete’s Tairei Laupapa (33 feet) finished third. Manti’s Sanilaiti Takeiaho (31-03) placed fifth.

Grand’s Veda Gritts took the girls’ javelin title (107-03) with Manti’s Breana Cruz (98-01) finishing second. Richfield’s Sisilia Vakautakakala placed third (97-08) and Breana Barson of Manti placed fourth (95-11).

In the girls’ high jump, South Sevier’s Kenzie Jones (5 feet) took the championship. Tying for fourth place and therefore the last automatic bids to the state championship meet, were Richfield’s Tressa Bastian and Cloey Christensen of Manti (4 feet-10 inches).

The boys’ discus champion is Laramie Roberts of North Sanpete (133-09). Manti’s Jason Henningson placed second (126-10).

In the girls’ 800-meter run, Grand’s Kylah Ricks is the champion (2:28.75). Nora Foster of Richfield placed second (2:32.49) with Katie Robinson of Richfield placing third and Allie Bridges of Manti finishing fourth. Avery Foster of Richfield placed fifth, taking the last automatic qualifying bid in the event.

The girls’ 200-meter dash champion is North Sanpete’s Isabelle Hightower (26.67 seconds). Passion Reitz placed second (27.41) for Richfield. Melissa Crane of Richfield placed third (27.65), Kaizlee Bringhurst of South Sevier finished fourth (27.66) and Sharlie Alder of Manti placed fifth (27.83).

In the boys’ 200-meter dash, Emery’s Braiden Ivie took the title (21.63 seconds) while Ethan Johnson of Manti placed third (23.57) and his teammate, Keenan Moulton, placed fourth (23.58). Connor Peterson of Souh Sevier finished fifth (23.71).

In the boys’ 800-meter run, Richfield’s Hayden Harward (1:58.90) took the region crown. Matt Hindes (2:06.92) and Orange Peel (2:07.19) placed third and fourth, respectively. Nick Woolsey of Richfield tied Peel for fourth place, claiming the last automatic bid for the state championship meet.

In the girls’ 4 x 400, San Juan (4:25.83) took the Region 15 title. Richfield placed second (4:29.78), Manti placed third (4:31.19) and South Sevier finished fifth (4:33.94).

In the boys’ 4 x 400, Richfield took the team title (3:27.53). This team for the Wildcats consists of Hayden Harward, Kade Jensen, Ian Bate and Kyson Grant. North Sanpete placed fourth (3:42.12) and Manti finished fifth (3:42.68).

Region 14 Track & Field Championships

NEPHI, Utah-Wednesday, the Delta Rabbits and Juab Wasps competed at the Region 14 track and field championships during the first day of competition.

Currently, both Juab’s boys (39) and girls (57) have the lead with Delta’s boys (32) and girls (51) each in second place.

In the girls’ 1600-meter run, Juab’s Marissa Hall took the region title (5:30:50) while her teammate, Maura Williams, finished fifth (5:43.48).

In the boys’ 1600-meter run, Juab’s Dason Day took the crown (4:44.82).

Union’s girls took the medley title (4:21:48) with Juab placing third (4:44.20) and Delta fourth (4:46.19).

Carbon’s boys took the medley crown (3:45.45) with Juab finishing third (3:58.56).

Ronnie Walker of Juab took the girls’ long jump title (18-01.75) with her teammate, Willow Kay placing second (16-11).

Brandy Stratten of Delta won the girls’ shot put title (31-07.25) with Haylee Christenson (31-05.50) finishing second and Tatum Hyatt of Juab (29-07) placed fifth.

In the boys’ discus, Ty Durbin of Juab took the crown (119-07) while Mason Wolforth (118-03) placed second for the Wasps. Delta’s Romeo Hernandez (112-02) and Bridger Terril (111-07) finished fourth and fifth, respectively.

Delta’s Jacky Hatch (121-08) took the girls’ javelin title, with Elise Pratt (105-09) and Shayley Fowles (101-03) finishing third and fifth respectively, for the Rabbits. Taya Darrington of Juab finished fourth (103-09.50).

In the girls’ long jump, Kaydence Noel of Delta finished second (13-05.75).

In the boys’ high jump, Jaymen Brough of Delta took the title (6-feet 2 inches) while Delta’s Trey Brough (5 feet-10 inches) and Britton Smith (5 feet-10 inches) placed second and third respectively. The Rabbits also had Jamison Bishop place fifth (5 feet-8 inches). Juab’s Kollin Robertson placed fourth (5 feet-10 inches).

Region 17 Track & Field Championships

SALT LAKE CITY-Wednesday, Region 17’s track and field championships were decided with Wasatch Academy’s boys placing fifth with 8 points. The Wasatch Academy girls were second with 53.5 points.

Ashley Lagat took the girls’ 1600-meter run title (5:44.07) with Sheilah Cheruiyot (5:44.26) placing second and Purity Kattam (5:50.97) finishing fourth.

Kattam won the girls’ 3200-meter run title (13:00.30) with Lagat (13:01.27) and Cheruiyot (13:01.50) placing second and third, respectively.

Lagat also took the 800-meter run crown (2:36.07) with Kattam placing fourth (2:42.69).

The girls’ medley squad took the region title (4:46.97) with Courtney Condie, Purity Kattam, Ashley Lagat and Sheilah Cheruiyot doing the honors.

Condie also placed fifth in the girls’ 100-meter dash (14.65 seconds) as well as in the 200-meter dash (31.72).

Ben Sparks placed third in the boys’ 400-meter dash (57.87 seconds). Sparks also finished third in the 800-meter run (2:14.11).

Region 21 Track & Field Championships

MILFORD, Utah-Milford’s boys and girls dominated the Region 21 track and field championships with the boys posting 253 points and the girls netting 277 points to easily capture their respective region titles.

Bret Beebe of Milford won the boys’ 100-meter dash crown (11.29 seconds) as well as the 200-meter dash (23.14 seconds) and 400-meter dash (56.38 seconds) titles.

Alexa Walker of Milford won the girls’ 100-meter dash crown (13.07 seconds) with Taylor Alger earning the girls’ 400-meter dash title for the Tigers (1:02.84).

Aliza Woolsey of Milford won the girls’ 100-meter hurdles title (17.61 seconds) and Brynley Wunderlich earned the girls’ 300-meter hurdles crown for Milford (51.97 seconds).

Bryson Barnes of Milford won the boys’ 110-meter hurdles title (16.35 seconds) while Gaige Hardy won the 300-meter hurdles crown (45.84 seconds). Barnes also took the crown in the boys’ 800-meter run (2:07.57).

In the girls’ 800-meter run, Akaydeh Livingston (2:49.13) won the title, as well as in the 1600-meter run (6:26.05).

Kydon Davis of Milford won the boys’ 1600-meter run title (5:05.48) while Garrett Fisher took the 3200-meter run crown (12:21.21).

Kinley Spaulding of Mliford won the girls’ 3200-meter run title (14:47.34).

Paxton Henrie won another title for Milford in the boys’ high jump (5 feet-7 inches). Henrie also won the boys’ javelin crown (149-07).

Jaycee Rose was the girls’ high jump champion (4 feet-8 inches). Ayline Vega of Milford took the girls’ javelin title (95-06).

The Milford boys won the 4 x 100 relay crown (49.12) with Carson Cox, Dylan Ferguson, Gaige Hardy and Russell Walker doing the honor for the Tigers.

The Milford boys also won the 4 x 400 relay title (4:05.20) as Blake Barnes, Kydon Davis, Gaige Hardy and Russell Walker getting the job done.

The Milford girls won the 4 x 400 (4:30.37) with Taylor Alger, Madysen Griffiths, Kinley Spaulding and Aliza Woolsey getting the win for the Tigers.

The Milford boys (4:33.29) and girls (5:08.44) also won the respective medley titles.

The Tigers’ boys in this event were Paxton Henrie, Russell Walker, Carson Cox and Garrett Fisher. The girls were Teigyn Fields, Jaycee Rose, Kinley Spaulding and Aliza Woolsey.

Region 20 Track & Field Championships

ESCALANTE, Utah-The Panguitch boys and girls each decisively won Region 20 track and field championships Wednesday at Escalante High School. The Panguitch boys easily won with 224 points. The girls netted 227 points for the Bobcats, with Piute placing second with 147 points.

Panguitch’s Taylia Norris won the girls’ 3200-meter run title (15:40.35) as well as the 800-meter run crown (2:26.45).

Hallie Palmer of Panguitch won the girls’ 300-meter hurdles crown (54.28) and Kanyon Lamb of Panguitch took the boys’ 300-meter hurdles title (44.29) as well as the 110-meter hurdles crown (17.07).

Ivy Erickson of Piute is the 100-meter hurdles champion (17.82 seconds) and Morgan Platt of Bryce Valley earned the girls’ 100-meter dash crown (13.32). Platt gave the Mustangs another individual title in the girls’ long jump (16-01.50).

Cameron Franklin of Valley (11.34) took the 100-meter dash title as well as the 400-meter dash crown (58.26).

Kristen Stewart of Bryce Valley (7:05.87) took the girls’ 1600-meter run title. Porter Schoppe of Panguitch (5:02.27) is the boys’ 1600-meter run champion.

The Piute girls earned the girls’ 4 x 100 title (55.18 seconds). The Thunderbirds in this event were Myndi Morgan, Kenzie Sudweeks, Tyree King and Jordyn Kennedy.

Panguitch’s boys took the 4 x 100 championship (48.19) and were represented by Jevin Savage, Marc Certonio, Kevin Bridges and Riley Certonio.

Vanessa Delgado of Piute is the girls’ 400-meter dash champion (1:03.34) and also won the 200-meter dash crown (27.94).

The Panguitch girls won the medley title (5:08.21) as Mataya Barney, Brianna Stowe, Camri Fischer and Taylia Norris represented the Bobcas in this event.

The Panguitch boys also won the medley (4:15.38) as Lane Bangerger, Paxton Wolfley, Jevin Savage and Porter Schoppe were in this event.

Riley Certonio won the boys’ 200-meter dash crown (24.60) for Panguitch.

In the girls’ 4 x 400, Panguitch took the title (4:46.01) with Brooklyn Brinkerhoff, Hallie Palmer, Kiesa Miller and Taylia Norris doing the honors for the Bobcats.

In the boys’ 4 x 400, Panguitch also earned the crown (4:02.36) as Paxton Wolfley, Marc Certonio, Kevin Bridges and Riley Certonio represented the Bobcats in this event.

Kenzie Sudweeks of Piute won the girls’ high jump title (5 feet-3 inches) and Braden Heaton of Valley earned the boys’ high jump crown (6 feet).

Mataya Barney of Panguitch won the girls’ javelin title (118-06.75) and Orrin Wood of Valley (155-05.75) is the boys’ javelin champion.

Kambree Fullmer of Panguitch (33-02) is the girls’ shot put champion and Riley Pearson of Piute (43-06.50) is the boys’ shot put champion.

Karlee Eyre of Panguitch is the girls’ discus champion (115-07) to conclude the meet.
