CEDAR CITY, Utah-Wednesday, Southern Utah University men’s basketball head coach Todd Simon was named as a finalist for the Hugh Durham and Skip Prosser Awards by collegeinsider.com for the 2021-22 season.
Simon has presently led the Thunderbirds to a 22-11 (14-6 in Big Sky play) after vanquishing the UTEP Miners 82-69 Tuesday at El Paso, Texas in the second round of The Basketball Classic.
The Hugh Durham Award is annually presented to the top mid-major head coach in Division I men’s basketball.
The Skip Prosser Award honors both success on the basketball court and moral integrity off of the floor.
The recipients of these respective awards will be announced April 4.
Simon is currently 95-93 (.505) as the Thunderbirds’ head coach as the squad hosts Portland Saturday at 4:00 pm at the America First Event Center in the quarterfinals of The Basketball Classic.
