Tuesday, Southern Utah football star tailback Targhee Lambson was named among the three finalists for the Walter Payton Award.
This honor, named after the former Jackson State and Chicago Bears star tailback, honors the most outstanding offensive player in Division I FCS football.
Lambson, a former Timpview High School and Snow College star out of Spanish Fork, Utah, set SUU records this season for carries in a season (320), rushing yards (1,922) and net points scored (142).
The other finalists for this award are Montana State senior quarterback Tommy Mellott and North Dakota State senior signal-caller Cam Miller.
The winner of the award will be announced January 4, 2025.
