Snow’s Keionte Scott/Iowa Western’s Jacob Ellis Named Co-NJCAA Defensive Players of the Year of the Year

CHARLOTTE, N.C.-In news released Wednesday, Snow College star cornerback Keionte Scott and Iowa Western linebacker Jacob Ellis were named as co-NJCAA defensive players of the year.

Scott, who has since moved on to Auburn of the SEC to continue his collegiate football career, posted 27 tackles, 22 solo tackles, 2.5 tackles for a loss, an interception and six pass breakups for the Badgers, who went 7-2 on the season.

Scott was consistently the best player on a defensive unit that surrendered 13.7 points per game and 211.8 yards per contest.

Ellis amassed 77 tackles, 45 solo stops, 8 tackles for a loss, 5 interceptions and 4 forced fumbles for the Reivers on the season.
