Monday, Snow College women’s basketball freshman guard Sara Aoki was named the Scenic West Athletic Conference Player of the Week per a statement from the conference.

Aoki, a native of Sapporo, Japan, averaged 18 points per game in the Badgers’ wins at North Idaho and No. 6 Southern Idaho last week.

Aoki is averaging 14.2 points on 55 percent from the floor and 50 percent from range over the course of the last six games.

Aoki and her Snow teammates will again face Southern Idaho March 12 in the first round of the Scenic West Conference Tournament at Twin Falls, Idaho.

The Golden Eagles are the No. 1 seed in this tournament and the Badgers, winners of four straight, will be the No. 4 seed.
