EPHRAIM, Utah-Jetlee Ioane homered twice and Shelbee Jones also went yard as the No. 6 Salt Lake Community College Bruins outlasted Snow 11-9 Wednesday in the first game of a SWAC softball doubleheader. Jones posted nine strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Bruins. Mikayla Jankovic netted a strikeout in 0.2 innings of work to secure the save for SLCC in victory. McCall Maxfield homered twice in defeat for the Badgers.
EPHRAIM, Utah-Bailey Marvin and Kylee Ruesch each homered and the No. 6 Salt Lake Community College Bruins routed Snow 14-6 Wednesday evening, completing a SWAC softball doubleheader sweep of the Badgers. Tiffany Hermansen posted three strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Bruins. Hadlee Walker, Ayden Fitch and Kamryn Allen homered in the loss for the Badgers.
Following Wednesday’s results, the Bruins improved to 37-7 and 29-4 in SWAC play. The Badgers, meanwhile, fell to 30-20 and 15-14 in conference play.
The squads meet again Thursday at Ephraim for a doubleheader with opening pitch slated for 10:00 am.
