HENDERSON, Nev.-Tuesday, as Snow College softball commenced the Scenic West Athletic Conference (Region XVIII) softball tournament, five Badgers received all-region honors.
Making the first team was sophomore outfielder Marae Condie.
She was joined by sophomore catcher Aubree Ison and sophomore infielder Paige Elkins on the second team.
Earning honorable mention honors for the Badgers were sophomore pitcher Briley Young and pitcher/utility player Mickie Mills.
Condie, a native of Spanish Fork and a former Spanish Fork High School star, posted a .439 batting average on the season with eight home runs and 42 RBI on the season. She also netted a .452 on-base percentage.
Ison, a nearby star at North Sanpete High School out of Moroni, posted a .315 batting average and a team-best nine home runs on the season.
Elkins, a native of Kaysville, Utah and a former Davis High School star, posted 17 walks on the season and boasted a .444 on-base percentage.
Young, like Condie, grew up in Spanish Fork and starred at Spanish Fork High School. She posted a 6-8 record on the season with a 6.74 ERA. She led the Badgers with 61 strikeouts on the season.
Mills is the third former Spanish Fork Don on the roster to earn SWAC honors. She netted a .339 batting average on the season and posted 29 RBI.
The Badgers prevailed 9-4 over USU-Eastern Utah Tuesday before falling 11-7 to SLCC in the second game of the day.
Snow will face Southern Idaho in the consolation bracket Wednesday at 2:30 pm MDT.
