Temple View Invitational
MANTI, Utah-Friday, Manti High School hosted the annual Temple View Invitational, featuring numerous schools and athletes representing the Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network throughout our broadcast coverage area.
The Grand boys claimed the team title with 130 points. Richfield placed third with 67 points, Manti finished fourth with 51 points and North Sanpete finished seventh with 40 points. Additionally, Millard placed ninth with 29 points and Gunnison Valley posted 21 points, finishing in 10th place. Piute was 12th with 18 points and North Sevier and South Sevier tied for 13th with 11 points.
For the girls, North Summit took the team title with 128 points and Richfield was second with 87.5 points. Millard and Carbon finished tied for third with 57 points apiece. Manti was seventh with 46.5 points. Gunnison Valley finished eighth with 25 points and South Sevier was ninth with 23.5 points. Wasatch Academy and North Sanpete tied for 10th with 22 points and Piute was 12th with 21.5 points. North Sevier finished 13th with 15 points.
In the girls’ 100-meter hurdles, Richfield’s Melissa Crane took the title in a time of 15.72 seconds. Crane also won the 300-meter hurdles title (49.83 seconds). Also, in the 300, her teammate, Tressa Bastian (50.52 seconds) placed fourth, tying Kenzie Jones of South Sevier for that distinction. Crane’s successful meet continued as she won the girls’ long jump title (17 feet-5 inches).
The boys’ 110-meter hurdles title was won by Manti’s Josh Blauer (16.29 seconds) while his teammate, Trevor Robinson (16.36 seconds) placed third.
In the girls’ 100-meter dash, North Sanpete’s Isabelle Hightower (12.98 seconds) took the title, while Passion Reitz of Richfield placed third (13.38 seconds), Richfield’s Brianna Davis-Mitchell placed fifth (13.71 seconds) and Megan Olsen of Manti finished sixth (13.74 seconds).
In the boys’ 100-meter dash, Riley Ogden of North Sevier (11.61 seconds) placed second, Keenan Moulton of Manti (11.71 seconds) finished third, Scott Hatch of North Sanpete (11.86 seconds) placed fourth and Ethan Johnson of Manti (11.86 seconds) finished fifth.
The girls’ javelin saw Manti’s Keyera Braithwaite place third (100-09 feet), Brinley Mason of North Sevier (98-10 feet) finished fourth and Mary Degraffenreid of Millard placed sixth (96-06 feet).
The girls’ shot put saw North Sevier’s Brinley Mason (32-06 feet) place second while Gracie Moysh of Gunnison Valley (31-06 feet) placed fourth. Sanilaiti Takeiaho of Manti (31-03 feet) finished fifth and her teammate, Naomi Boorman (31-02 feet) placed sixth.
In the girls’ 1600-meter run, Wasatch Academy’s Sheilah Cheruiyot (5:43.93) and Ashley Lagat (5:48.17) placed second and third respectively. Ember Moat of Millard (5:50.63) finished fourth and Richfield’s Avery Foster (5:58.92) placed sixth.
The boys’ long jump saw Piute’s Wesley Jensen (19-10.50 feet) place fourth while Connor Peterson of South Sevier finished fifth (19-08.50 feet).
In the girls’ high jump, South Sevier’s Kenzie Jones (5 feet) placed second. Tressa Bastian of Richfield was sixth (4 feet-10 inches).
The boys’ high jump saw Gunnison Valley’s Garrett Francis place second (6 feet) and Duncan Herbst of Millard placed third. His best leap was also six feet. Scott Hatch of North Sanpete and Brad Taylor of South Sevier placed fifth and sixth, respectively, each with a leap of 5 feet 10 inches.
The girls’ 4 x 100 relay saw Manti and Piute’s girls tie for fourth in a time of 53.46 seconds and North Sanpete placed sixth in 54.31 seconds.
The girls’ 400-meter dash title was won by Millard’s Katy Kelly (1:01.27) while Jade Wimmer of Gunnison Valley (1:02.33) placed third, Vanessa Delgado of Piute (1:02.37) finished fourth and Passion Reitz of Richfield (1:03.32) placed fifth.
In the girls’ 3200-meter run, Millard’s Audrey Camp (12:16.83) placed second while Annalee Thompson of Richfield (13:19.79) finished fourth, Aubry Cook of North Sanpete (13:22.77) placed fifth and Allie Bridges of Manti (13:26.42) finished sixth.
The boys’ 3200-meter run saw North Sanpete’s Matt Hindes (10:36.80) and Orange Peel (10:39.87) finish third and fourth respectively and Jaren Camp of Millard (10:45.36) finished sixth overall.
In the boys’ 400-meter dash, Kade Jensen of Richfield (50.93 seconds) placed second while Jaden Sterner of Manti (52.70 seconds) finished third. Nathan Despain of Millard (53.18 seconds) placed fourth.
The boys’ 1600-meter run champion is Richfield’s Hayden Harward (4:38.96) while his teammate, Nick Woolsey (4:55.11) placed fourth. Matt Hindes of North Sanpete (4:56.85) finished fifth overall. Harward also won the boys’ 800-meter run crown (2:00.32) and Orange Peel of North Sanpete (2:09.17) finished fourth in the event. Meanwhile, Jaren Camp of Millard placed sixth overall (2:12.62).
In the boys’ 4 x 100 relay, Manti placed second (46.62 seconds), Richfield finished third (46.74 seconds) and Gunnison Valley placed sixth (47.24 seconds).
The boys’ javelin saw Millard’s Brooks Myers (136-05 feet) place third while Jens Lefevre of Manti (131-11) finished fifth.
In the boys’ 300-meter hurdles, Ian Bate of Richfield (43.46 seconds) placed second.
In the boys’ shot put, Piute’s Riley Pearson (42-02.50 feet) placed third and Spencer Colburn (40-09 feet) of Manti finished sixth.
In the girls’ 800-meter run, Millard’s Mary Degraffenreid (2:34.02) placed third and Wasatch Academy’s Sheilah Cheruiyot and Ashley Lagat finished fifth (2:36.97) and sixth (2:38.27) respectively.
In the girls’ discus, Naomi Boorman of Manti (90-05 feet) placed fourth and Brena Barson (89-06 feet) finished fifth.
Richfield’s girls won the medley title (4:34.94) with a team featuring Melissa Crane, Brianna Davis-Mitchell, Passion Reitz and Kate Robinson. Manti’s girls finished second (4:35.48), South Sevier placed fifh (4:52.08) and Millard finished sixth (4:53.18).
In the boys’ medley, Piute placed third (2:55.38), Gunnison Valley finished fourth (2:56.87) and Richfield placed fifth.
Gunnison Valley’s Jade Wimmer won the girls’ 200-meter dash title (26.85 seconds). Katy Kelly of Millard (27.62 seconds) placed second. Millard’s Audrey Camp finished third (28.14 seconds). Vanessa Delgado of Piute finished fourth (28.28 seconds), Annika Liddard of Gunnison Valley finished fifth (28.37 seconds) and Isabella Hightower of North Sanpete (28.46 seconds) finished sixth.
In the boys’ 200-meter dash, North Sanpete’s Cesar Lemus (24.40 seconds) finished fourth, Ethan Carter of Gunnison Valley (24.50 seconds) placed fifth and North Sevier’s Riley Ogden (24.52 seconds) finished sixth.
In the girls’ 4 x 400 relay, Millard placed third (4:24.67) and Richfield finished fifth (4:42.95).
Finally, in the boys’ 4 x 400 relay, Richfield placed first (3:36.54) as the squad featured Hayden Harward, Kade Jensen, Will Smith and Nick Woolsey. Millard’s Eagles placed fourth in a time of 3:45.41.
Desert Hills Invitational
ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday, several Mid-Utah Radio Sports Network schools and athletes competed at the Desert Hills Invitational, squaring off against some of the best Class 4-A athletes.
For the girls, Desert Hills leads the way with 48 points. Panguitch and Delta are tied for fourth with 16 points. Milford is 12th with 7 points and Wayne is in 13th place with 3 points.
The Desert Hills’ boys also have the lead with 31 points. Delta is in ninth place with 7.5 points. Beaver and Kanab are tied for 11th place with 6 points and Milford is in 13th place with 5 points.
In the girls’ 1600-meter run, Panguitch’s Taylia Norris (5:16.02) placed sixth overall.
In the girls’ medley, Delta placed fourth (4:56.98) with a team consisting of Brandy Stratten, Shayley Anderson, Quincee Allred and Kaeshay Brough. Milford placed fifth, while Wayne placed sixth and Panguitch finished seventh.
In the girls’ discus, Panguitch’s Karlee Eyre (110-10.50 feet) placed third, Delta’s Paityn Callister finished fourth (104-06 feet), Kiesa Miller of Panguitch finished eighth (94-09.25 feet) and Annie Bateman of Kanab placed ninth (93-02.50 feet).
The girls’ javelin saw Delta’s Jacky Hatch (110-06) placed third and Karlee Eyre of Panguitch (106-03) finished sixth and Kiesa Miller of Panguitch (101-08) finished eighth.
In the girls’ long jump, Taylor Alger of Milford placed sixth (15-03.75 feet).
For the boys, Kanab’s Clay Shakespear placed 20th in the 1600-meter run (4:50.26) and John McLaws of Delta placed 24th (4:55.76).
In the boys’ medley, Milford placed fourth (4:02.63) as the Tigers were represented by Dylan Ferguson, Russell Walker, Michael Roxburgh and Kydon Davis.
The boys’ shot put saw Beaver’s Treyson Harris (46-11) place third overall.
Finally, in the boys’ high jump, Kanab’s Cade Szymanski placed third overall with a leap of six feet. Delta’s Jaymen Brough tied for fourth (5 feet-10 inches) and Britton Smith of Delta finished sixth (5 feet-10 inches).Trey Brough of Delta also excelled in the event, placing ninth (5 feet-8 inches).
