Girls Soccer
Region 12
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Lillian Wasden and Brooklyn Olson each scored twice and the Manti Templars routed Emery 8-0 in Region 12 girls soccer play Thursday. Cambrie Thompson, Jakinzie Strong, Andelyn Dewey and Madelyn Bridges added an additional goal apiece in victory for the Templars. Alyssa Whitney recorded the shutout in the net for Manti.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Meloni Jacobson scored and the Delta Rabbits outlasted Richfield 1 (6) – 1 (5) in extra time Thursday in Region 12 girls soccer play. Destry Probert scored in the loss for the Wildcats.
2A South
MONROE, Utah-Laura Nelson recorded a hat trick and Parowan outlasted South Sevier 4-3 in the Battle of the Rams Thursday in 2A South girls soccer play. Kennedy Salazar scored twice and Savanah Brady also found the net in defeat for the South Sevier Rams.
BEAVER, Utah-Maggie Stephens and Reese Kesler each scored and the Millard Eagles blanked Beaver 2-0 in 2A South girls soccer play Thursday. Savannah Coray earned the shutout in the net for the Eagles in the win.
Boys Golf
Region 18
RICHFIELD, Utah-The South Sevier Rams won a Region 18 boys golf tournament Thursday at Cove View Golf Course in Richfield by shooting a 313 as a team, 14 strokes ahead of second place Beaver at 327. Kanab came in third with a 340, followed by Parowan at 348, Enterprise placed fifth with a 356 and Millard rounded out the tournament with a 359.
Individually, McKay Pace of Parowan placed first with a score of 74, Kanab’s Kale Glover and South Sevier’s Mackson Bastian tied for second by each shooting a 75. Gunner Sorensen of South Sevier placed fourth with a 78 and South Sevier’s Cannon Hessey rounded out the top five with a 79.
