3-A State Playoffs

Judge Pod Winner’s Bracket 

SALT LAKE CITY-Henry Frech and Alex Zang had 3 RBI apiece as the Judge Memorial Bulldogs routed Delta 13-3 Saturday in the 3-A state playoffs winner’s bracket at St. Ann’s Catholic School of Salt Lake City. Luke Borgmeier netted 12 strikeouts for the Bulldogs in taking the win on the mound. Delta next plays Morgan Thursday at 11:00 am in the 3-A consolation bracket. Judge next plays Richfield Thursday at 1:30 pm in the quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College.

Judge Pod

SALT LAKE CITY-Sanjay Kasturi posted 5 RBI, going 4-4 at the plate as the Judge Memorial Bulldogs downed North Sanpete 14-6 Saturday in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs at St. Ann’s Catholic School of Salt Lake City. Kasturi also had four hits for Judge in the victory. Luke Borgmeier and Kyler Nilson added home runs for Judge. The Bulldogs advance to play Saturday at 5:00 pm against the Delta Rabbits. Connor McTeague also had five strikeouts on the mound for the Bulldogs in victory. North Sanpete next faces Providence Hall at 3:00 pm Saturday. Logan Black and Landon Milne each  had RBI in defeat for the Hawks.

SALT LAKE CITY-Hunter Peterson’s 2 RBI led the way as the Delta Rabbits waxed Providence Hall 6-1 in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs at St. Ann’s Catholic School of Salt Lake City Saturday. Josh Jackson posted 11 strikeouts in going the full distance on the mound for the Rabbits to earn the win.

Judge Pod Consolation Bracket

SALT LAKE CITY-Landon Milne posted 5 RBI and four hits as the North Sanpete Hawks outgunned Providence Hall 13-12 in the 3-A loser’s bracket at St Ann’s Catholic School of Salt Lake City Saturday. Hunter Price contributed three strikeouts for the Hawks in the win. North Sanpete next faces Emery May 13 at 1:30 pm at an unknown location in the greater Salt Lake City area.

Juab Pod Winner’s Bracket

NEPHI, Utah-Wyatt Payton and and Jaxton Adams each drove in runs and the Juab Wasps bested Emery 5-3 Saturday in the winner’s bracket in the 3-A state playoffs at Juab High School. Dalin Ludlow posted 8 strikeouts in the win for the Wasps, earning the win on the mound. Juab next faces Grantsville May 13 in the state quarterfinals at Salt Lake Community College against Grantsville for an 11:00 am opening pitch.

Juab Pod

NEPHI, Utah-Dalin Ludlow drove in a pair of runs and Porter Bowles posted seven strikeouts in five innings of work as the Juab Wasps routed South Summit 10-0 Saturday in the 3-A state baseball playoffs. Juab next faces Emery Saturday at 4:00 pm in the winners bracket.

Carbon Pod

PRICE, Utah-Bridger Beacham had a pair of RBI and Jaxson George took the win on the mound, netting six strikeouts, as the Grantsville Cowboys doubled up Manti 10-5 in the 3-A state baseball playoffs at Carbon High School Saturday. Grantsville plays Carbon in the winners bracket at 2:30 pm. Manti plays South Sevier in the losers bracket at 2:30 pm.

PRICE, Utah-Cooper Schade drove in a pair of runs and the Carbon Dinos stymied South Sevier 6-0 Saturday at Carbon High School in the 3-A state playoffs. Kade Dmick’s nine strikeouts earned him the win on the mound for the Dinos.

3-A Consolation Bracket @ Carbon H.S.

PRICE, Utah-Jason Nelson posted four hits and 3 RBI as the Manti Templars ended South Sevier’s season with a 13-7 win over the Rams Saturday in the 3-A consolation bracket at Carbon High School. Emilio Miramontes had 3 RBI in defeat for South Sevier. Manti next plays May 13 at 11:00 am in the consolation bracket against Union.

Union Pod Winner’s Bracket

ROOSEVELT, Utah-Heston Jenson and Dallin Stewart netted 4 RBI apiece and the Richfield Wildcats outlasted Union 16-13 Saturday in the winner’s bracket at Union High School. Reggie Hafen drove in three more runs for the Wildcats in the victory. Richfield advances to the quarterfinals Thursday at 1:30 pm at Salt Lake Community College against the winner of the Judge-Delta game. Daycen Rohrer, Brady Mecham and Ryne Russell had 2 RBI apiece in defeat for the Cougars.

Union Pod

ROOSEVELT, Utah-Max Robinson amassed 4 RBI and the Richfield Wildcats bested American Leadership 12-4 Saturday in the 3-A state baseball playoffs at Union High School. Heston Jenson and Jaron Ross drove in two more runs apiece for the Wildcats who next face host Union, a 19-18 winner over Summit Academy in the first game of the day in the 3-A winners bracket.

2-A 1st Round 

Beaver Pod

BEAVER, Utah-Jake Eichorn posted a pair of RBI and the Beaver Beavers routed Enterprise 10-1 Saturday at Beaver High School in the 2-A state baseball playoffs. Cobe Carter posted six strikeouts for the Beavers as he earned the win on the mound. Beaver next plays Gunnison Valley Thursday at 11:00 am in the state quarterfinals at Nelson Field of Spanish Fork.

BEAVER, Utah-Boston Black drove in four runs and the Beaver Beavers pulverized Altamont 24-0 in the 2-A state playoffs Saturday at Beaver High School. Trexton Bailey had five strikeouts to earn the win on the mound for the Beavers.

Gunnison Valley Pod

GUNNISON, Utah-Janzen Keisel amassed 5 RBI and posted eight strikeouts in three innings of work as the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs decimated Milford 22-0 in the 2-A state baseball playoffs Saturday at Gunnison Valley High School. Jake Sorenson drove in four more runs for the Bulldogs in the win.

Kanab Pod

KANAB, Utah-Cole Clarkson drove in a pair of runs and the Kanab Cowboys got past North Sevier 3-1 Saturday in the 2-A state baseball playoffs at Kanab High School. Derek Houston amassed 15 strikeouts in going the distance on the mound to earn the victory for the Cowboys. Kanab next faces Parowan Thursday in the 2-A state quarterfinals at Nelson Park of Spanish Fork for a 1:30 pm opening pitch. North Sevier plays Monticello Thursday at 11:00 am in the 2-A losers bracket at Maple Mountain High School.

KANAB, Utah-Breken Mason and Deagan Brazell had 3 RBI apiece and the North Sevier Wolves routed Layton Christian 18-2 Saturday in the 2-A state playoffs at Kanab High School. Brody Butler earned the win on the mound for the Wolves.

Parowan Pod

PAROWAN, Utah-Bowdey  Larsen drove in four runs and the Duchesne Eagles outlasted Millard 9-8 Saturday in the 2-A state playoffs at Parowan High School. Morgan Wade and James Stephenson each had a pair of RBI in defeat for the Millard Eagles. Millard next faces Milford Thursday at 1:30 pm in the 2-A losers bracket at Maple Mountain High School.

Manti Pod

MANTI, Utah-Ashley Rasmussen, Adalee Olson and Sadie Cox all homered as the Manti Templars routed Summit Academy 17-0 in the first round of the 3-A state softball playoffs at Manti High School Saturday. Manti next faces Morgan Thursday at 10:00 am at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex in the second round of the playoffs. Tiffany Hermansen earned the win in the circle for the Templars.

MANTI, Utah-Hope Woolsey homered, leading the Morgan Trojans to an 8-6 win over Juab in the first round of the 3-A state softball playoffs Saturday at Manti High School. Baylee Ulibarri homered in the loss for the Wasps.

3-A Consolation Bracket @ Manti High School

MANTI, Utah-CheyAnn Lewis posted 5 RBI and four hits as the Juab Wasps routed Summit Academy 17-0 in the 3-A losers bracket Saturday at Manti High School. Juab next plays May 13 at 2:30 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex against the loser of the South Summit-Union game.

Carbon Pod

PRICE, Utah-Lyndsey Madrigal went yard and the Carbon Dinos smacked Richfield 11-1 in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs Saturday at Carbon High School. Brooke Moosman earned the win in the circle for the Dinos. Carbon next faces Grand at 10:00 am Thursday in the second round of the playoffs at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

PRICE, Utah-Jaci Shumway and Kaci McKinney each went yard as the Grand Red Devils pummeled Delta 16-0 at Carbon High School Saturday in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs. Lainey Bohannon added 4 RBI in the win for Grand with Shumway earning the Red Devils’ win in the circle.

South Summit Pod

KAMAS, Utah-Allie Earl’s 7 RBI led the way and the Union Cougars outgunned North Sanpete 15-11 in the first round of the 3-A state playoffs Saturday. Graciee Christiansen had 4 hits to lead the Hawks in the loss.

3-A Consolation Bracket @ South Summit H.S.

KAMAS, Utah-Madyson Steadman drove in five runs and Kady Cook added 3 more RBI as the North Sanpete Hawks routed Judge 21-2 to stay alive in the 3-A losers bracket at South Summit High School Saturday. Graciee Christiansen earned the win in the circle for the Hawks. North Sanpete next plays May 13 at 2:30 pm at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex against the loser of the Manti-Morgan game.

2-A 1st Round

Beaver Pod

BEAVER, Utah-Layni Williams netted 4 RBI and the Parowan Rams pounded Kanab 19-4 in the first round of the 2-A softball playoffs at Beaver High School. Maycee Anderson earned the win in the circle for the Rams. Parowan next faces Beaver in the second round Thursday at 12:15 at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex.

Duchesne Pod

DUCHESNE, Utah-Aubree Lunt posted 4 RBI and Lillie Reid drove in three more runs as the Millard Eagles waxed Milford 16-1 Saturday in the 2-A state playoffs at Duchesne High School. Millard advances to play Duchesne Thursday in the 2nd round of the 2-A state playoffs at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex for a 10:00 am opening pitch. Shaylee Burraston posted nine strikeouts in four innings of work to secure the win in the circle for the Eagles.

2-A Boys Soccer Quarterfinals

HERRIMAN, Utah-Jordan Martinez and Ezies Landa scored two goals apiece and the Real Salt Lake Academy Griffins clobbered Wasatch Academy 9-1 Saturday in the 2-A boys soccer state quarterfinals. Real Salt Lake Academy next draws Rowland Hall May 17 in the 2-A state semifinals at Juan Diego Catholic High School of Draper.

BEAVER, Utah-Sam Francis and Kelton Ferrier each scored as the Rowland Hall/St. Mark’s Winged Lions blanked Beaver 3-0 in the 2-A boys soccer state quarterfinals Saturday. Joe Fenton earned the shutout for the Winged Lions.
