3A Championship Series @ SLCC

WEST JORDAN, Utah-Gannon Labrum and Gavin Roberts each drove in a run and the No. 7 Union Cougars downed No. 4 Canyon View 3-2 Friday at Cate Field in the first game of the 3A championship series. P.J. Hancock posted four strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Cougars. Cameron Calvez and Zach Maine drove in a run apiece in defeat for the Falcons. Union can clinch the 3A state championship with a win over Canyon View Saturday morning at 11:00 am at Cate Field in Game 2 of the 3A Championship Series.

2A State Championship @ UVU

Winners Bracket

OREM, Utah-Kash Kabonic drove in three runs and the No.1 Kanab Cowboys overpowered No. 7 Duchesne 9-3 Friday in the winners bracket at UCCU Ballpark. Maddix Baird, Griffen Bone, Walker Baird, Kanon Virostko and Lane Sims each drove in an additional run in the win for the Cowboys. Walker Baird posted eight strikeouts in six innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Kanab. Parker Crum, Cade Norman and Jeshaun Johnson each drove in a run for the Eagles in the loss. The Cowboys will play for a 2A state championship Saturday at UCCU Ballpark with opening pitch slated for 12:30 pm.

One-Loss Bracket

OREM, Utah-Kanyon Okerlund, Ryker Freeman and Payson Mitchell each drove in a run and the No. 6 South Sevier Rams bested No. 4 Beaver 3-0 Friday in the one-loss bracket at UCCU Ballpark. Benjamin Northrup earned the win on the mound for the Rams, recording five strikeouts in seven innings of work. South Sevier next advances to the Friday 7:00 pm game in the one-loss bracket against No. 3 Grand.

OREM, Utah-Ean Elliss homered and the No. 3 Grand Red Devils blanked No. 5 San Juan 4-0 in the one-loss bracket Friday at UCCU Ballpark. Kalan Bowden posted six strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Grand.

OREM, Utah-Benjamin Northrup homered and the No. 6 South Sevier Rams outlasted No. 3 Grand 12-11 in the one-loss bracket at UCCU Ballpark Friday. Peyton Ingram and Payson Mitchell drove in two runs apiece in the win for the Rams. Kanyon Okerlund and Kameron Hessey drove in a run each in victory for South Sevier. Ean Ellis, Trace York, Brayden Althoff and Brady Dawson drove in two runs apiece in defeat for the Red Devils. South Sevier next plays No. 7 Duchesne in the one-loss bracket Saturday at 10:00 am at UCCU Ballpark. The winner advances to the 2A state championship round against Kanab.

3A Semifinals @ Spanish Fork Softball Complex

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Hayden Bytheway homered and the No. 6 Grantsville Lady Cowboys upset No. 1 Emery 17-11 to prevail in the 3A state semifinals Friday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Brooklyn Ekker drove in three runs in defeat for the Spartans. Emery will play No. 2 North Sanpete Saturday at 10:00 am in the one-loss bracket at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Grantsville advances to the championship round Saturday at 12:30 pm.

3A Quarterfinals @ Spanish Fork Softball Complex

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Eden Ressel and Kira Hart homered and the No. 6 Grantsville Lady Cowboys used a five-run 7th Inning to vanquish No. 2 North Sanpete 6-4 Friday in the 3A quarterfinals at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Hayden Bytheway posted six strikeouts in 3.1 innings of work to earn the win in the circle for Grantsville. Dally Bailey homered and Indigo North drove in another run in the loss for the Hawks. Grantsville next faces No. 1 Emery Friday at 3:00 pm in the state semifinals. North Sanpete returns to action Friday at 12:30 pm in the one-loss bracket against No. 5 Carbon in an elimination game.

SPANISH FORK, Utah-The No. 1 Enterprise Wolves outlasted No. 6 Beaver 6-5 in the 2A semifinals Friday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Enterprise next advances to the 2A state championship round Saturday at 12:30 pm. Beaver will play No. 3 South Sevier Saturday at 10:00 am in the one-loss bracket.

2A Quarterfinals @ Spanish Fork Softball Complex

SPANISH FORK, Utah-Addi Nelson and Mylee Platt homered and the No. 1 Enterprise Wolves clobbered No. 4 Altamont 15-1 in the 2A quarterfinals Friday at the Spanish Fork Softball Complex. Blakelee Christiansen recorded three strikeouts in three innings of work to earn the win in the circle for the Wolves. Kenly Duncan homered in defeat for the Longhorns. Enterprise next faces No. 6 Beaver Friday at 3:00 pm in the state semifinals.
