GUNNISON, Utah-Braxton Pickett belted a grand slam and the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs edged the Hillcrest JV Huskies 10-9 Monday in non-region baseball play. Kason Brackett, Dillon Dyreng, Landry Edwards and Kyler Jensen drove in an additional run apiece in the win for the Bulldogs. Dyreng posted two strikeouts in 1.2 innings of work to earn the win on the mound for Gunnison Valley. Humberto Nava Valbuena homered in the loss for the Huskies.

Softball

Region 12

MANTI, Utah-Carlie Rasmussen, Gabi Scottorn and Avery Thompson drove in a run apiece and the Manti Templars edged Canyon View 4-3 in Region 12 softball play Monday. Danie Alder posted seven strikeouts in seven innings of work to earn the win on the mound for the Templars. Elli John and Alina Sluder drove in a run apiece in the loss for the Falcons.
