1A State Tournament 2nd Round
RICHFIELD, Utah-Brock Syrett posted 15 points, 5 assists and 4 rebounds on 5-6 from the field as the No. 4 Bryce Valley Mustangs pummeled No. 13 Rich 63-30 Wednesday in the 2nd round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center. The Mustangs shot 66 percent (23-35) from the field for the game. The Mustangs next play in the 8:30 pm quarterfinal Thursday against No. 5 Whitehorse at the Sevier Valley Center.
Riley Carrillo had 10 points on 5-7 from the field for the Rebels in defeat.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Brett James netted 15 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists as the No. 5 Whitehorse Raiders outlasted No. 12 Tintic 54-46 in the 2nd round of the 1A state tournament Wednesday at the Sevier Valley Center. Holden Peterson had 14 points and 7 rebounds in the loss for the Miners.
Tintic and Rich play in the consolation bracket Thursday at 8:30 pm at Richfield High School.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Kyler Bennett posted 14 points and 10 rebounds on 5-10 from the field as the No. 1 Panguitch Bobcats clobbered No. 16 Wendover 83-46 Wednesday in the 2nd round of the 1A boys state playoffs at the Sevier Valley Center. Shawn Duboise’s 16 points on 6-11 from the field led the Wildcats in the loss. Panguitch next plays No. 8 Valley Thursday at 7:00 pm in the state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah-McCoy Harris led the way with 14 points and 5 rebounds and the No. 8 Valley Buffaloes bested No. 9 Monticello 34-27 in the 2nd round of the 1A boys state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center Wednesday. Landon Ewart had 12 points and 7 rebounds on 5-10 from the field for the Buckaroos in defeat.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Gavin Morgan netted 14 points and 4 rebounds on 5-8 from the field as the No. 2 Piute Thunderbirds pounded No. 15 Milford 56-28 Wednesday in the 2nd round of the 1A boys state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center. Treyton Rose’s 7 points and 4 rebounds led the Tigers in the loss.
Piute next plays Thursday at 2:30 pm in the state quarterfinals against Diamond Ranch.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Andres Foloschini posted 20 points and 12 rebounds on 8-14 from the field as the No. 7 Diamond Ranch Diamondbacks outlasted No. 10 Altamont 52-48 in the 2nd round of the 1A boys state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center Wednesday. Ethan Hansen netted 15 points, 7 assists and 6 rebounds in defeat for the Longhorns.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Tuck Davis had 15 points and 8 rebounds and the No. 3 Manila Mustangs overpowered No. 14 Wayne 50-27 in the 2nd round of the 1A boys state tournament Wednesday at the Sevier Valley Center. Ryker Peterson had 8 points in the loss for the Badgers. Manila next faces No. 6 Tabiona Thursday at 1:00 pm in the state semifinals at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Lawson Curry netted 14 points and 8 rebounds and the No. 6 Tabiona Tigers surged past No. 11 Monument Valley 59-44 Wednesday at the Sevier Valley Center in the 2nd round of the 1A state tournament at the Sevier Valley Center. Doreon Chee led the Cougars in defeat with 16 points and 9 rebounds.

RICHFIELD, Utah-Tabbie Henrie led the way with 12 points and the No. 4 Panguitch Bobcats drilled No. 13 Valley 45-31 Wednesday in the 2nd round of the 1A girls state tournament at Richfield High School. D’Aundra House had 8 points for the Buffaloes in the loss.
Panguitch next faces No. 5 Wayne in the state quarterfinals Thursday at 5:30 pm at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah-AnDee Van Dyke’s 17 points led hte way and the No. 5 Wayne Badgers stymied No. 12 Altamont 49-33 in the 2nd round of the 1A girls state tournament Wednesday at Richfield High School. Abby Long had 9 points for the Longhorns in the loss.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Kassidy Westwood’s 15 points led the way and the No. 1 Piute Thunderbirds waxed No. 16 Manila 48-21 Wednesday at Richfield High School in the 2nd round of the 1A girls state tournament. Kamryn Slaugh had 6 points for the Mustangs in the loss. Piute next draws No. 9 Water Canyon in the state quarterfinals Thursday at 4:00 pm at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Melissa Jessop amassed 25 points and 17 rebounds and the No. 9 Water Canyon Wildcats dismantled No. 8 Whitehorse 36-17 in the 2nd round of the 1A girls state tournament Wednesday at Richfield High School. Kailee Tohonnie had 6 points for the Raiders in defeat.

Regan Syrett had 10 points in defeat for the Mustangs. Tabiona next draws No. 10 Escalante Thursday at 10:00 am in the state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.
RICHFIELD, Utah-Mikki Prows netted 21 points and the No. 10 Escalante Moquis waxed No. 7 Wendover 57-46 in the 2nd round of the 1A girls state tournament at Richfield High School Wednesday. Leslie Luna’s 26 points led the Wildcats in the loss.

Raemi Nez had 13 points for the Cougars in defeat. Milford next draws No. 6 Rich Thursday at 11:30 am in the state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.
