3-A Second Round

RICHFIELD, Utah-Gavin Brown forced overtime with a clutch 3-pointer and put the game away with a breakaway layup in the closing seconds, as Richfield outlasted Morgan 52-47 Friday in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs at Richfield High School. Brown posted 11 points on 4-5 from the field for Richfield, while Max Robinson had 13 points and 6 rebounds for the Wildcats, who improved to 11-10 with the win.

With this victory, Richfield advances to the 3-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center Thursday at 12:50 pm. The Wildcats will not know their opponent until Saturday as they draw the winner of the Juab-South Summit 2nd round matchup at Juab High School.

Branson Saunders had 12 points and 10 rebounds on 5-9 from the field in defeat for the Trojans.

SALT LAKE CITY-Dom Burns led the way with 22 points and the Judge Memorial Bulldogs pounded South Sevier 62-39 in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs Friday. Carter Peterson had 21 points in defeat for the Rams. Judge next faces Manti Thursday at 2:50 pm in the state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

MOAB, Utah-Moroni Seely Roberts posted 24 points and the Grand Red Devils clobbered Union 82-42 Friday in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs. Joey Sampson had 16 points in defeat for the Cougars. Grand next faces San Juan Thursday at 9:30 am to commence the 3-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

BLANDING, Utah-Nathan Grover posted 15 points as the San Juan Broncos hammered Summit Academy 68-48 in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs Friday. Zack Englebright had 18 points for the Bears in the loss.

GRANTSVILLE, Utah-Davin Ekins amassed 17 points and 12 rebounds as the Grantsville Cowboys routed Emery 65-30 Friday in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs. Grantsville next meets Carbon Thursday at 11:10 am in the 3-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.

PRICE, Utah-Preston Condie netted 30 points and 10 rebounds, including six 3-pointers, as the Carbon Dinos overpowered North Sanpete 71-64 in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs Friday.

MANTI, Utah-Tate Quarnberg posted 19 points and the Manti Templars smacked ALA 68-48 Friday in the second round of the 3-A state playoffs. Colton Davis had 10 points in defeat for the Eagles.

2-A Second Round

COALVILLE, Utah-Treyson Pace stepped up with 34 points and 14 rebounds as the North Summit Braves tomahawked Altamont 78-56 Friday in the second round of the 2-A state playoffs. Cordale Taylor led the way with 22 points in defeat for the Longhorns. The Braves next face Enterprise Monday at 9:30 am to commence the 2-A state quarterfinals at the Sevier Valley Center.
