BICKNELL, Utah-Jake Batty led the way with 18 points and the No. 3 Wayne Badgers routed No. 6 Bryce Valley 73-42 Thursday in the first round of the Region 20 tournament. Luke Andrus had 13 points in the loss for the Mustangs. Waynenext faces No. 2 Piute Friday at 6:45 pm in the region quarterfinals at Panguitch High School. Bryce Valley next draws No. 7 Escalante Friday at 11:45 am in the consolation bracket at Panguitch High School.
JUNCTION, Utah-Kole Westwood netted 15 points and the No. 2 Piute Thunderbirds smacked No. 7 Escalante 59-42 in the first round of the Region 20 tournament Thursday. Rayce Jenkins led the Moquis in the loss with 13 points.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-Kilo Tsosie posted 20 points and the No. 5 Milford Tigers edged No. 4 Valley 63-62 Thursday in the first round of the Region 20 tournament. Jace Cox led the Buffalos in defeat with 16 points. Milford next faces No. 1 Panguitch Friday at 3:15 pm in the region quarterfinals at Panguitch High School. Valley has a bye until Saturday at 11:45 am at Panguitch High School in the 5th-6th place game.
