2A Semifinals

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Tyten Fails completed 5 of 8 passes for 152 yards and two scores as the No. 4 Beaver Beavers embarrassed No. 1 South Summit 35-0 Friday in the 2A semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University. The Beavers limited the high-octane Wildcats to 37 points below their seasonal average and 174 net yards of offense on the evening.

Beaver next plays for a 2A state championship November 11 at Utah Tech University in St. George against San Juan.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Parker Snyder completed 18 of 35 passes for 376 yards, 3 touchdowns and 2 interceptions as the No. 2 San Juan Broncos outgunned No. 3 Emery 56-48 Friday in the 2A semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University. Zach Conway (18 car, 137 yards, 4 total touchdowns) and Garrett Young (5 rec, 128 yards, TD) also led the Broncos in the victory.

In defeat, the Spartans amassed 629 yards while Wade Stilson (34 of 60, 528 yards, 5 TD’s/3 INT’s) had a strong showing. Emery was also paced by Matt Olsen (13 rec, 165 yards, TD), Creek Sharp (1o rec, 197 yards, 2 TD’s) and Koalton Curtis (5 rec, 102 yards, 2 TD’s).

The teams combined for 1,201 yards of offense: Emery had 629 yards and San Juan 572 yards.

1A Semifinals

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Jessaia Giatras ran for 248 yards and two scores on 27 carries as the No. 1 Layton Christian Eagles dismantled No. 4 Milford 24-3 Friday in the 1A state semifinals at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.

The Eagles outgained the Tigers 375-56 and limited Milford to 1.2 yards per play for the game.

Layton Christian next plays Kanab for a 1A state championship November 11 at Greater Zion Stadium on the campus of Utah Tech University.

CEDAR CITY, Utah-Griffen Bone completed 7 of 11 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown while also sealing the game with a key interception in the closing moments as the No. 3 Kanab Cowboys upset No. 2 Enterprise 26-15 in the 1A state semifinals Friday at Eccles Coliseum on the campus of Southern Utah University.

Parker Franklin (touchdown run) and Derek Brown (touchdown grab) also scored for the Cowboys, who handed Enterprise their first loss of the season.

Kyron Bracken (2o touches, 121 scrimmage yards, 2 net touchdowns) led the Wolves in defeat.
