RICHFIELD, Utah-Wesley Nielsen posted 16 points and shot 9-11 at the foul line as the Juab Wasps outlasted Richfield 65-61 in overtime Tuesday in non-region boys basketball action.
Connor Holroyd netted 28 points and 8 rebounds on 8-12 from the field for the Wildcats in the loss.
The Wasps also prevailed on the glass 34-28 and were +8 (23-15) in turnover margin. These vital statistics helped give the defending 3A state champions the edge in a closely-contested game which commenced the season for both squads.
MONROE, Utah-Kayson Douglas led the way with 23 points and the Manti Templars gashed South Sevier 61-46 in non-region boys basketball play Tuesday. Ridge Tebbs paced the Rams in the loss with 16 points.
TROPIC, Utah-Brock Felder netted 22 points and the Parowan Rams stonewalled Bryce Valley 68-52 Tuesday in non-region boys basketball action. Treyson Clark posted 24 points for the Mustangs in the loss.
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Matthew Ramos stepped up with 24 points as the Enterprise Wolves drilled Gunnison Valley 78-43 in non-region boys basketball play Tuesday. Jon Willden’s 19 points led the Bulldogs in defeat.
MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Landon Bowles amassed 20 points and 5 rebounds while the North Sanpete Hawks decimated Maeser 63-25 Tuesday in non-region boys basketball play. Caleb Munoz led the Lions in the loss with 10 points.
JUNCTION, Utah-Brooks Dalton had 19 points as the Piute Thunderbirds gashed Beaver 57-51 in non-region boys basketball action Tuesday. Boston Black paced the Beavers with 18 points in defeat.
SALINA, Utah-Tucker Chappell posted 18 points and Klyn Fullmer added 17 more while the Panguitch Bobcats pounded North Sevier 71-31 Tuesday in non-region boys basketball play. Ethan Fielding had 11 points for the Wolves in the loss.
DELTA, Utah-Cai Henderson led the way with 14 points in defeat as the Stansbury Stallions clobbered Delta 80-43 Tuesday in non-region boys basketball play at the Palladium.

DELTA, Utah-Jaden Johnson’s 13 points led the way and the Canyon View Falcons waxed Delta 56-51 in non-region girls basketball play at the Palladium Tuesday. Kate Smith and Ashlynd Hunt had 15 points apiece in defeat for the Rabbits.
CASTLE DALE, Utah-Daicee Ungerman had 20 points and the Emery Spartans smacked Manti 65-39 Tuesday in non-region girls basketball play.
SPANISH FORK, Utah-Tiffany Tervort posted 21 points and the ALA Eagles humbled Gunnison Valley 46-37 in non-region girls basketball play Tuesday. Raven Pickett posted 14 points for the Bulldogs in defeat.
BEAVER, Utah-Halle Hutchings led the way with 18 points and the Beaver Beavers stymied Juab 58-42 Tuesday in non-region girls basketball play. Lucy Richards and Emmy Lovell had 10 points apiece for the Wasps in the loss.
FILLMORE, Utah-Rebecca Poulsen stepped up with 23 points as the Richfield Wildcats hammered Millard 62-42 in non-region girls basketball play Tuesday. Paige Cummings led the Eagles in defeat with 17 points.
