MT. PLEASANT, Utah-Landon Bowles completed 8 of 12 passes for 114 yards and three scores as the North Sanpete Hawks clobbered Carbon 49-6 Wednesday night in 3-A South football play.
This was a successful Senior Night for the Hawks as 22 seniors were honored.
The Hawks also ran for 176 yards on the evening, led by Dakoda Harward (14 car, 73 yards, 2 TD’s).
Andrew Mower added two interceptions in the victory for North Sanpete.
The Hawks conclude the regular season at 4-6 and 2-3 in 3-A South play.
The Dinos conclude the regular season at 2-7 and 0-5 in 3-A South play.
MANTI, Utah-Alex Jackson threw three touchdown passes and the Juab Wasps downed Manti 35-25 in 3-A South football play Wednesday. Ryan Robison added a 7-yard touchdown run for the Wasps in the win. Reggie Frischknecht had scoring receptions of 60 and 7 yards in the loss for the Templars. Kayson Douglas and Cohlyer Parry added touchdown runs in defeat for Manti.
Volleyball
Region 18
EAGLE MOUNTAIN, Utah-Ellie Anderson posted 11 kills and the Rockwell Marshals blanked Wasatch Academy 3-0 in Region 18 volleyball action Wednesday. The Marshals prevailed over the Tigers 25-17, 25-13, 25-17.
Region 19
ENTERPRISE, Utah-Noah Moyle amassed 19 kills and the Enterprise Wolves pummeled South Sevier 3-0 in Region 19 volleyball play Wednesday. The Wolves bested the Rams 25-23, 25-20, 25-16.
Region 20
PANGUITCH, Utah-Hailee Eyre and Tabetha Henrie netted 8 kills apiece and the Panguitch Bobcats smacked Bryce Valley 3-0 Wednesday in Region 20 volleyball action. The Bobcats drilled the Mustangs 25-18, 25-11, 25-13 in straight sets.
ORDERVILLE, Utah-The Valley Buffaloes gashed Wayne 3-0 in Region 20 volleyball play Wednesday. The Buffaloes smacked the Badgers 25-22, 25-20, 25-19 in the straight sets victory.
HILDALE, Utah-The Milford Tigers stymied Water Canyon 3-0 Wednesday in Region 20 volleyball play. The Tigers gashed the Wildcats 25-16, 26-24, 25-18 to prevail in straight sets.
Girls Soccer
3-A Second Round
PRICE, Utah-Amiah Timothy and Beverly Lancaster each scored and the Carbon Dinos blanked Juab 2-0 Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state girls soccer tournament. Emma Flemmett earned the shutout for the Dinos. Carbon faces Ogden Saturday at 1:00 pm in the 3-A state soccer quarterfinals.
DRAPER, Utah-Hailey Mezenen scored twice and the Juan Diego Soaring Eagle downed Richfield 4-0 in the second round of the 3-A state girls soccer tournament Wednesday. Jonna Tucker posted the shutout for Juan Diego. The Soaring Eagle next faces Morgan Saturday at 1:00 pm.
MANTI, Utah-Alivya Osborn amassed a hat trick and the Manti Templars pummeled Delta 9-1 in the second round of the 3-A state girls soccer tournament Wednesday. Breanne Wayman and Karla Borst each scored twice and Brooklyn Olson and Morgan Chidester also found the net for the Templars. Paisley Hunt scored in the loss for the Rabbits. Manti next visits Real Salt Lake Academy Saturday at 1:00 pm.
MORGAN, Utah-Lacie Poll posted a hat trick and the Morgan Trojans blasted North Sanpete 6-0 Wednesday in the second round of the 3-A state girls soccer tournament. Madison Wangsgard, Miya Turner and Viana Johnson combined on the shutout for the Trojans in victory.
2-A State Tournament First Round
FILLMORE, Utah-Paige Cummings and Kara Camp each scored twice and the Millard Eagles drilled North Summit 7-0 Wednesday in the first round of the 2-A state girls soccer tournament. Emma Stephenson, Kadi Dearden and Sydney Braman each scored for the Eagles as well in victory. Savannah Wright and Lucy Freeman each combined on the shutout for the Eagles. Millard next visits Parowan Saturday at 1:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
BEAVER, Utah-Alina Lurth scored twice and the Beaver Beavers waxed Draper APA 3-1 in the first round of the 2-A state girls soccer tournament Wednesday. Heidi Harris also scored in victory for the Beavers. Beaver next visits Rowland Hall Saturday at 1:00 pm in the state quarterfinals.
PAROWAN, Utah-Brynlee Anderson posted four goals and the Parowan Rams pounded Gunnison Valley 8-0 Wednesday in the first round of the of the 2-A state girls soccer tournament. Karlee Wood added two more goals for the Rams, with Kierra Covington and Maycee Andersen also scoring for Parowan.
LINDON, Utah-Catherine Miller netted five goals and the Maeser Prep Lions routed South Sevier 8-0 in the first round of the 2-A state girls soccer tournament Wednesday. Alice Watson recorded the shutout for the Lions. Maeser visits Waterford in the second round of the 2-A state girls soccer tournament Saturday at 1:00 pm.
