MANTI, Utah-Saturday, Manti High School’s football program, under the direction of head coach Cole Meacham, conducted the Manti Invitational.
Participating at this camp were host Manti, as well as South Sevier, Delta, Grantsville, Enterprise, Summit Academy, San Juan, North Sanpete, North Sevier, Beaver and Emery.
Events consisted of 7-on-7 passing competitions as well as a wide array of challenges for the linemen, featuring weightlifting, pushing and turning over monster truck tires and other tests of strength.
Manti won the linemen challenge, a performance which caused Meacham to say “we got the job done.”
In the 7-on-7 competition, San Juan bested North Sanpete 21-12 in the championship game.
In the semifinals, the Broncos outlasted Manti 15-9, while the Hawks clobbered Summit Academy 30-12.
In the quarterfinals, Manti edged Emery 15-14, North Sanpete bested Grantsville 23-12, Summit Academy routed North Sevier 30-0 and San Juan bested Beaver 26-18.
