IRVING, Texas-In Wednesday news, BYU senior center James Empey, Utah senior long snapper Keegan Markgraf  and Utah State grad senior defensive end Nick Heninger were named as semifinalists for the 2021 Campbell Trophy, college football’s premier scholar-athlete award.

The Campbell Trophy awards academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership.

Each of the finalists for this award will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship as a member of the 2021 NFF National Scholar-Athlete Class presented by Fidelity Investments.

This year’s finalists will be honored December 7 at the ARIA Resort & Casino of Las Vegas.

Last year’s recipient was Memphis quarterback Brady White.
