CEDAR CITY, Utah-Tyson Tucker threw a 50-yard touchdown pass to Brogan Christensen on a double pass as the No. 1 Gunnison Valley Bulldogs downed No. 3 Monticello 26-22 to win the 8-player football state championship Saturday at Eccles Coliseum.

This win represents the Bulldogs’ first state championship in football in school history.

Tyrek Hopkins (21 car, 161 yards, TD) also excelled for Gunnison Valley.

In defeat, Easton Young hauled in 6 receptions for 76 yards and a score for the Buckaroos.
