Former Utah College Football Standouts Selected In XFL Draft Friday.

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Friday, several former Utah college football standouts were selected in the XFL Rookie Draft. They are as follows:

Vegas Vipers

Darrius Nash CB Utah Tech

Lorenzo Fauatea DL BYU

Seattle Sea Dragons

Payton Wilgar LB BYU

San Antonio Brahmas

R.J. Hubert CB Utah

Nash, a native of Los Angeles posted 49 total tackles last season for the Trailblazers, including 31 solo stops.

Nash added six pass deflections and a pair of interceptions, including a pick-six.

Fauatea recorded 2.5 sacks, 5 tackles for a loss, a forced fumble and a defensed pass for the Cougars last season.

Wilgar, Fauatea’s teammate, and a former Dixie High School star, netted 30 tackles and a defensed pass for BYU last season.

Hubert posted three interceptions, two forced fumbles, three tackles for a loss and two defensed passes last season for the Utes.

Players drafted in Friday’s XFL Rookie Draft will be placed on XFL rosters with players who finished the 2023 season on active and reserve lists.

XFL teams will have exclusive rights for players they select in the draft.

The XFL will host a series of player showcases through July, culminating with the XFL Combine: July 25-27 at Arlington, Texas.
