Former Utah Punter Louie Sakoda Among Six To Go Into UofU Athletics Hall of Fame in September

SALT LAKE CITY-Monday, former University of Utah football kicker/punter Louie Sakoda was named as one of six former Utes athletes to be enshrined in the Utah Athletics Hall of Fame.

Sakoda, who starred for the Utes from 2005-2008, will be joined by

Pipi Hollingsworth-softball

Ryan Khoury-baseball

Alison McInturff-women’s swimming

Jane Quimby-women’s basketball

Jeff Robbins-men’s tennis

Sakoda, a native of  San José, Calif., made 86.4 percent of his field goal attempts and averaged 42.1 yards per punt, during his time with the Utes.

Sakoda later played professionally in the Canadian Football League for the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2009-2010).

The class will be inducted this September.
