DENVER-Monday, Utah Valley redshirt sophomore center Fairdaws Aimaq has been named the WAC men’s basketball player of the week February 7-13.

This is his fourth WAC player of the week honor of the season and seventh in his career.

In a Thursday loss to Grand Canyon and a Saturday win over New Mexico State, Aimaq averaged 19 points and 12 rebounds per game for the Wolverines this past week.

The native of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada leads the nation in double-doubles (21) and defensive rebounds per game (10.1).

Aimaq is averaging 19 points and 12.9 rebounds per game for the 16-8 (7-5 in WAC play) Wolverines.

Aimaq and his UVU teammates return to action Wednesday at Tarleton State as their WAC season ensues.
