SAN FRANCISCO-Monday, Utah junior defensive end Jonah Elliss and junior linebacker Karene Reid were named the Pac-12 Defensive Line and Defensive Player of the Week, respectively.

In Saturday’s 14-7 win over UCLA, Elliss posted 10 tackles, 5 tackles for a loss and 3.5 sacks. Elliss presently leads the nation with 5.5 sacks.

Reid, a former American Fork High School star, recorded nine tackles and two pass breakups against the Bruins.

Reid, Elliss and their Utes teammates return to action Friday at Corvallis, Ore. against the Oregon State Beavers.
