DENVER-Monday, Dixie State junior guard Cameron Gooden was named the TicketSmarter Western Athletic Conference men’s basketball player of the week per an announcement from the conference.

Gooden, a native of Frisco, Texas, helped the Trailblazers rout the Denver Pioneers 82-62 Saturday, by posting 22 points on 7-12 from the field and six assists with no turnovers.

This season, Gooden is averaging a team-best 15 points per game as well as 4.3 assists per contest.

Gooden and his Trailblazers teammates (5-5) seek to get over .500 Wednesday by hosting the SAGU American Indian College at Burns Arena.
