Dixie State Athletics Posts Record-Breaking GPA For 2018-19 Academic Year

ST. GEORGE, Utah-Per a Thursday announcement, Dixie State University’s athletic department confirmed their student-athletes posted a cumulative 3.1675 GPA during the 2018-19 academic year, setting a new record.

This commemorates the fourth-straight semester and ninth semester in the last 12 overall that Trailblazers student-athletes combined to surpass the 3.00 threshold.

Two Dixie State student-athletes this past academic season, volleyball player Malary Marshall and women’s swimmer McKenna Fowler, each earned the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference’s Summit Award.

This is presented to the student-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA participating at the final site for each of the RMAC’s championships.

Seven Trailblazers student-athletes earned CoSIDA-Google academic All-District 6 honors, including Marshall, baseball infielder Jake Engel, football player Bradley Duran, softball shortstop/second base Bailey Gaffin, cross country/track athlete Billie Hatch and women’s soccer defender Nichole Mertz and redshirt junior defender Kilee Lamb-Allsop.
