FILLMORE, Utah-As confirmed Tuesday, Millard junior wrestler Conner Hem was among The Deseret News High School star athletes of the week.

Hem was one of six athletes across the state to receive this honor and the only one in Utah High School Activities Association classifications 1A-3A.

Hem was among Millard’s star wrestlers at the 2A Division A state-qualifying meet at Kanab High School last week.

Wrestling in the 132-pound class, Hem posted a 3-0 record last week, including a pair of pins to earn the individual title in this division.

Millard coach Brenden Turner calls Hem a “special athlete.”

In the final in this Division A meet, Hem vanquished Duchesne’s Bowdey Larsen, a two-time state finalist.

Hem has posted a 33-14 (.702) record on the season for the Eagles.

Other athletes of the week included Alta senior boys basketball standout Jett Lundberg, Riverton senior girls basketball star Zariah Jenkins, Ogden senior boys swimmer Bradyn Reeves, Ridgeline senior girls swimmer senior Carly Eubanks and Bear River junior wrestler Josie Redman.
