PROVO, Utah-Thursday, BYU football commenced fall camp sessions for the 2021 season.
Wednesday evening, the Cougars reported for meetings and equipment issue prior to Thursday’s opening practice.
The Cougars’ returning talent includes sophomore tailback Tyler Allgeier, junior tailback Lopni Katoa, junior center James Empey, freshman tight end Isaac Rex, junior receiver Neil Pau’u and junior receiver Gunner Romney.
Candidates for the starting quarterback position include sophomore quarterback Jaren Hall, sophomore signal-caller Baylor Romney and freshman quarterback Jacob Conover.
The Cougars’ defense is bolstered by sophomore linebackers Payton Wilgar, Keenan Pili and Max Mooley.
In the secondary, junior defensive back D’Angelo Mandell, sophomore defensive back Isaiah Herron and junior defensive back Malik Moore.
BYU has also added transfers in freshman defensive back Jakob Robinson (Utah State) and junior defensive back Kaleb Hayes (Oregon State).
