BYU Athletics Is No. 1 In Directors Cup Fall Standings

PROVO, Utah-Thursday, BYU athletics achieved the No. 1 ranking in Division I athletics in the Learfield IMG College Directors’ Cup Final Division I Fall standings.

The finish is the Cougars’ best in school history for any athletics season.

The Directors’ Cup annually ranks collegiate athletic programs around the country by awarding points based on each institution’s finish in the NCAA Championships.

Preliminary standings are released following the fall and winter athletic seasons and lead up to the release of a final ranking following the spring season.

The Cougars’ fall sports amassed 368 net points. Women’s cross country and women’s soccer netted 90 points apiece. Each program placed second nationally in national championship contention behind ACC schools NC State and Florida State, respectively.

The Top 10 schools in the Learfield Directors’ Cup standings are as follows:

7. Washington
