SALT LAKE CITY-Orlando Martinez homered and added an RBI triple as the Salt Lake Bees doubled up Sacramento 8-4 Saturday at Smith’s Ballpark in Pacific Coast League play.
Oliver Ortega earned the win on the mound for Salt Lake, posting a strikeout in 1.1 innings of play. Ortega is now 2-0 on the season for the Bees.
Jason Krizan had an RBI double in defeat for the River Cats.
Salt Lake improved to 53-57 on the season and Sacramento fell to 47-63 in the loss.
The Bees can secure a series split Sunday if they defeat the River Cats in the series finale at Smith’s Ballpark with a 1:05 pm opening pitch.
If they can do so, this would be the fifth consecutive series Salt Lake would not have lost.
