DENVER-Monday, Utah Valley redshirt sophomore center Fardaws Aimaq and Dixie State graduate forward Hunter Schofield were named to the 2022 All-WAC team.
Aimaq and Schofield were each named to the first team with Aimaq doubling as a member of the all-defense team.
Aimaq posted 18.5 points and 14.4 rebounds per game this season for the 19-11 (10-8 in WAC play) Wolverines.
Schofield averaged 14.9 points and 12.3 rebounds per game for the 13-18 (6-12 in WAC play) Trailblazers.
Aimaq and his UVU teammates are the No. 7 seed in the WAC Tournament at the Orleans Arena of Las Vegas.
The Wolverines will commence the WAC Tournament Tuesday by facing the No. 10 Chicago State Cougars.
Dixie State’s season is over as the Trailblazers are still in the transition period to Division I and are therefore still ineligible for postseason play.
The Trailblazers will be able to participate in the WAC Tournament next season and are eligible for the NCAA Tournament in 2025.
