(Salt Lake City, UT) — Youth activists are urging state leaders to address the crisis at the Great Salt Lake. Over the weekend, Utah Youth Environmental Solutions organized a rally at a dried-up area of the lake. People of all ages gathered with tombstone-shaped posters to highlight how losing the lake will negatively impact biodiversity, the economy, and public health. The organization wants lawmakers to stop diverting water from the lake for the mining industry and big development.
