(Mt. Pleasant, UT) — A 54-year-old woman is dead after her vehicle went off the road near Mt. Pleasant late Tuesday. State police say the woman was traveling south on Mountainville Highway at about 10:39 p.m. Investigators at the scene say she was driving at a high rate of speed and failed to navigate a curve near Gravel Pit Road. She crossed into an oncoming lane then left the road, colliding with a concrete loading dock. The woman was declared dead at the scene. There were no passengers in the vehicle. The name of the driver has not been released.
