A new wildfire has been reported in Beaver County. According to fire officials the Cougar Fire started Aug. 16 around 1:45 p.m. in Hamlin Valley near Cougar Spar in Beaver County.
As of 9:00 a.m. on Aug. 17 the fire has burned 476 acres and is 0% contained. The cause of the fire is still under investigation but it is believed that it was human caused.
Currently Cougar Spar Road and all unpaved roads within the fire area are closed. Currently there are no evacuations ordered or injuries reported.
