Valley Fever Research At University Of Utah Receives 375-thousand Dollar Award

(St. George, UT) — The University of Utah Valley Fever mapping research is receiving the Climate and Health Interdisciplinary Award from the Burroughs Welcome Fund. The award comes with 375-thousand in research funding. The goal of the study is to map where the fungus that causes the disease can survive and where it might spread. Valley fever is hard to track because it does not spread person to person and has symptoms similar to the flu.
